As Historic Storm Approaches, at Arlington, It’s Just Another Day

An epic snowstorm in bearing down on the east coast and Washington, D.C. is expected to be in the center of the bull’s eye.  If it lives up to expectations, this storm will rank among the top blizzards of all time.  The District of Columbia is going to be totally shut down.  Not even the metro railways will be running.  But just across the Potomac River in Arlington, Virginia, a great American tradition will continue unabated, as it has for 79 years.  Not snow storm, tornado, or hurricane has ever interrupted this tradition.  Not even during the terrorists attacks on September 11th, 2001, was the tradition interrupted.

Therefore, it is with the deepest reverence and respect, we bow our heads to honor the Old Guard of the U.S 3rd Infantry Regiment Honor Guard, as they go through their paces at the Tomb of the Unknown, as they have every minute of every day since,  midnight, July 2, 1937.
